When and how do you plan your day? What changes in this habit might you make?
- I try to set specific goals in the beginning of each work and to have some sort of timelines in order to get my work handed in on time. Consider your workspace. What distractions are present or potentially problem? A distraction can range from many things such as seeing my phone around me it might distract me into browsing through social media, also music choice could potentially be a distraction, as well as other items that are unorganized in my workspace that might cause an issue. How do you "block" your work time? Into segments? With breaks? What rewards do you build in? I personally like the use of the app "Focus". It is a time management phone built app to help motivate and helps the person accomplish its goals through using a 20:5 ratio of studying. For every 20 minutes of straight studying, the timer will let you know that it's time to get on a 5 minute break, and after 5 sessions its one 45 minute break. During this unit I learned the different types of learner profiles, if I were to ask people how the would describe me using three terms from the learner profile list, I would have described as open-minded, independent, and respectful. Based on these three terms I would put my highest ranking on respectful being on top because receiving respect and showing respect to others can create a safe environment for people to express themselves. Respect could mean that you accept someone for who they are even if I don't necessarily agree with their opinions. Respect in relationships builds feelings of trust, safety, and well being. I would put open-minded next onto the list because in order to be understanding. It is crucial to understand that everyone has various views and listening where the other person is coming from on certain topics is important while still remaining respectful. I would then follow up with independence. I typically don't like to rely on people with certain things, I always have liked to kind of figure things out on my own.
Scenario: Your group has been invited to the local elementary school. Your job is to create a game that will teach a class of fourth graders the importance of your chosen learner profile attribute. Younger kids tend to learn through actions more than words. So I would teach the classes through actions, and examples. I would show through actions through some scenarios that are presented in front of the students, because kids are a bit more visual. |
